the price depends where you are USA is the cheapest but here in australia NZ etc there expencive the high price is from the porduct itself then shipping and then retail profits which are to high!!!
@2MCHNV macs certainly have something right in the OS, but for the specs u get, they need to really lower the price…then its worth buying plus more people would buy them…
ive never been a mac person because i hated them way bak in the day so i was never into them im a windows freak even run windows mobile but l8ly apples just sellin it to me nicley im upgrading to a iphone 3GS and throwin the windows 7 away for a macbook pro

apple needs to make the MBP 17′ have these specs:
mobile core i7 720 (at least), 4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz, GTX 280m, and the screen is ok as it is…then the MBP will be worth the $2000
Well, I know it’s been nearly a year and they still haven’t added the SD card slot on this one yet, but I guess the next update will be next month or February. I can’t wait to find out the specs for the next model, it’s gonna be huge.

i think its bull shit that they have an express card slot in it! why change the others but not the 17″ i would have gotten it but if you are a photographer like me you need the SD card slot

dude dont get me wrong on this one, i love apple stuff and all. but if this is supposed t obe “high end” dont u think they would have at least a core 2 quad and a GTX 260M in it? because at those specs it aint worth the money…a Geforce 9600M GT in a high end $2500 laptop…bullshit…up the specs to high end apple then ill be willing to pay up
