PLEASE READ – PLEASE READ – PLEASE READ – PLEASE READ ****YOU MUST BE ROOTED**** *** New update at the bottom of the description 2-10-10*** Step 1 DOWNLOAD THIS FILE download510.mediafire.com Save to desktop Step 2 Take the smoked glass zip file and extract it to the desktop, you may rename the folder to what you want, but DO NOT tamper with the files inside! Step 3 Drag the folder that you just extracted (smoked glass v4) to your sdcard- YOU MUST PLACE IT IN THE “nandroid” folder, no other location, no other subfolders. Step 4 Reeboot in recovery mode – Power on by pushing power button and holding X at the same time. Step 5 Go to advanced nandroid restore, click on choose backup, find the ROM you want, in this case, smoked glass v4, then hit the enter button, then leave the default options checked, hit perform restore, then back out by pushing the power button, then hit reboot, and your done! I would like to thank adamz for making this ROM, he did an awesome job! Feel free to thank him at this website, he is always tweaking it and refining it. www.alldroid.org Adam is always making new versions of this ROM almost daily, Please go here to download the latest ROM, and just repeat all the steps above =) www.alldroid.org Please remember to visit these sites for any and all DROID info: androidforums.com www.alldroid.org www.droidforums.net

THANK YOU!! You have taught me alot, was a little scarred at first you walked me thru it perfectly. I didnt know but some of the file names need to be shortened or I recieved an error code, once the ROM name was shortened it when right in like perfectly!!! Thank you very much!!!!

Same here… Get “ERROR: Nandroid exited with status 25. Only have one file in the directory. Any other ideas?

  3. kasperfh87 says:

You have to delete the extra smokedglass folder in the nandroid directory. When you look in the directory you might have one smokedglass4.5 folder inside the other. If so delete it. It fixed the problem for me.

I also have a question. I switched from the droidmod rom to the smoked glass 4.5 rom today because I like the launcher better. But I can’t find the wifi tethering app. Anyone know where it is on smokedglass 4.5? Thanks

    exact same thing :(

    @wallmartkiller

Got the same thing, any thoughts anyone?

  6. wallmartkiller says:

After I choose “Perform Restore” I get “ERROR: Nandroid exited with status 25″.

I have the smoked glass theme in the root of the nandroid folder and have not messed with its contents either.

    Any thoughts?

any one having issues with weather channel not opening?

  12. patwhitman says:

After following your directions when I did the reboot the motorola sign came on and noting else. It will flash off but just comes back on. can you help me?

  13. DroidReview says:

I honestly would try whiping the cache partition, then whiping data factory reset from the Recovery menu first. THEN load the ROM, that might help a bit, yea youll have to reinstall your apps but honestly you shouldnt be having this many issues. Hope this helps…

seems smoked glass is super buggy on my droid… i open the keyboard and i get an FC… cant view the pics on my SD card without multiple FCs. is there any other roms that enable multi touch and tethering that aren’t as buggy?

  16. skinzzfan says:

Hey DroidReview. Love your stuff. Quick question though. I have smoked glass installed and all, but now i want to try bugless beast. How do i switch from smoked glass to bugless beast? Thanks in advance!

  17. DroidReview says:

@zharquan YES its pretty difficult to make your own custom ROM, alot of the devs out there actually use parts from other ROM’s and compile them into there own custom, you must know how to use programing code, C++, Pearl, stuff like that.

Yes overclocking video is on its way!!

  18. DroidReview says:

@IAMSBACK Might be an issue with the 2.1 gallery – Mine works fine though.. Thats weird

  19. DroidReview says:

@stvn2569 When using sholes you can only use the themes that are packaged with the actual ROM. I think sholes 2.0.5 has the smoked theme option though… Check into that..

  20. stvn2569 says:

i have the sholes 2.0.5 rom installed on my Moto Droid My question is can I download the Smoked Glass theme or other rom themes or am I only able to use Sholes themed roms?

  21. IAMSBACK says:

Yo the dude…install SG everything runs smooth only one problem, I cant see my pictures; its always force closing, is it a glitch?

  22. zharquan says:

I had a question about custom ROMS. Does it take alot of knowledge to make one? If you know how could you make a Tutorial Video? Also are you still going to make a Tutorial video about Overclocking the phone?
